I am trying to find a quote from George Lucas. It was in an article I read (I don't remember book or magazine) with Coppola and Lucas. Hello, this is Peteron (the Ewok) and I would first like to offer my deepest and utmost respect to the Master of the Universe and 2.5 Billion Dollar Man -- George *Walton* Lucas
Now for the task at hand: I am desperately searching for information pertaining to George Lucas' Greek heritage. Not too long ago, there was much info available on the highly reliable Internet Movie Database (www.IMDB.com) suggesting that Mr. Lucas (or shall I say Mr. GEORGIOS LUKAKIS) is Greek! There was also evidence that he was involved in THREE Greek films before Star Wars came into existance. Now that information is no longer available on the IMDB.
Does anyone really know WHO this man is? If you ask me, he looks Mediterranian (like Francis "FORD" Coppola), and I can bet the Parthanon most of you will agree.

Not to have to wait another 4-5 years to see it on DVD (but a bearable 6 months) is great. Im glad you came around. I hope Eps:4-6 will follow closelely after Ep:1.
This is definatly the way to go man... we'll all buy each episode as you release it and then (anyone kidding themselves??) theyll then again buy the box set of all 6 when the whole thing is done in 2005. Good move man and thanks again for starting to releasing part 1, 4, 5 and 6 on DVD :)

Hi George... Huge fan of all the Starwars movies and Indiana Jones but Ill repeat what seems to be on alot of peoples minds...
Why dont you release the Indy and SW films on DVD?? What I hear is, you're waiting till after Ep:3 to release all 6 on DVD. Thats at least 4-5 yrs from now!!! Thats rediculous man, and the Indy films have been finished for years and even if you are planing on making an Indy:4, thats no reason to hold back the rest from DVD.
I can appreciate you wanting all these movies to be done especialy well when transfering to DVD from VHS but come on already.
All other new movies come out on DVD at (or near) the same time as the VHS version and even the older movies are all gradualy coming out on DVD. You're the one who is going all out to make digital movies and you want the theater crowd to see the movie as you intend it and not deluded by the process of converting it to film and all but on the other hand, to see and SW or Indy movie now, we have to rent/buy a crappy VHS version of it which waters the quality down tremendously (as Im sure you already know).
Release them 1 at a time if you like... everyone will buy them up and then if you want to release some kind of special edition box set of all 6 at the end, the same people will flock back to buy it again.
I hope you will consider this. Im sure everyone (including myself) got a kick out of you grandstanding by not releasing any of your films on DVD right away but, that wears off after a few months and I challenge you to find a single fan (who owns a DVD player) that isnt dying for you to start releasing your great films where they (above any other film) should be released. I mean considering you and the kind of movies you make, you should have been the spearhead of the DVD revolution as I cant imagine movies that more richly deserve to be available in that format then yours!

Hi Mr. Lucas: I am lecturing on your films as well as on some of the films of some of your fellow 'New Hollywood' filmmakers. This all happens on Wednesday for me (the 26th of July), in Sheffield, England at the University of Sheffield. It is a lecture to a group of international students. Mr Lucas, I send this message on the gravest of circumstances. My Lifetime ambition was just to get a chance to Show the world my tallent for acting. But I have just been notified that the role of Aniken Skywalker has been filled. Dear Mr. Lucas, This is a strange request, but do you give a hoot about the new Houston, Texas football team? The reason I ask is because my husband thinks our new football team name should be "The Jedi's." This stems from, in short form, the fact that Texas's first "freedom fighters" were the Texas Rangers (which name we cannot use). The Jedi Knights are "freedom fighters" of the future. What better way to start the new milllinium, new team, and future of Houston football. Houston IS space city, after all. Bottom line is that if this name was chosen, you would probably have to have final say about it anyway. I am therefore asking for you to endorse the name of The Houston Jedi's. What do you say?

Hi, my name is Henrik and I'm the biggest Star Wars fan in Sweden. :) (how I know this is because I'm the only one who can write down the script, including every line, from memory) I have a very big favour to ask. Hello creative people from ILM. This is Katia L. Serracin writting you from Panama city, Panama. Right know I’m opening a small company which will dedicate its effort doing some computer graphics for TV and comercials, computer animation, Multimedia and Web pages.
My intention is not boring you writting things that I will do, but what we can do together. ¿Have you ever dream on having a studio in another country? My feeling is that you can grow more. Having another Studio in the middle of the American Continent is an advantage. People from South an Central America can come here. PANAMA is a small country which has a tropical climate in most of its territory, but that also has lots of cold places in the mountains; and they aren’t so far. Many panamenians say that we live in a Gold Cup (a small Gold Cup), and I believe it. And besides, we manage with Dollars.
I know you will probably say that I’m crazy about this, but I have to try it. I have a goal and I’m going to make it. Small or big, National or Internationally, I know I’m going to make it.
I should of start saying that I’m a Graphic Designer who starts in this computer environment with a TOPAS program several years ago. Then I jump to Alias for a year, but the company whom I worked almost got broke, its 25 people turn to just 6 (including the owners), they sold the machine. I went with it to a Television Company but because of some things wich I consider unapropiate I have to look in another Television company to work for. But this new work only had TOPAS, so I have to turn back to my old software. The last company I work for got a join with another who has Softimage, but they weren’t in good conditions. Right now I’m opening, as I said before, a small company which is going to be big. I did not learn Computer Graphic stuff in the University because the Panama University didn’t have computers at that time (I don’t think they still have). My reel is not even as good as a student from 3rd year in an american university, (I think), but God! I know I’m good. If I just have the chance to prove it. I always dream working with the big ones. I watch everytime I can Discovery Channel, where they show how they do special effects in great movies. I love the make-ups, the sets, the characters, the compositings, everything.
The talent here is huge. I know people with a lot of talent but that doesn’t have any VISION. I don’t want to be another from the crowd. I want to make things different that the rest of the people. I don’t have any money, but I will make a lot of it. But this is not just about money, it's a goal.

I can't be sure this'll work. Hell, I can't be sure this message will really reach you, but I might as well give it a shot. My name is Tobias Ellis and I live in Auburn, Alabama. Although I have always had a dream and desire to travel to Hollywood and make my fortune, practical matters intervened, and my dream has been somewhat derailed. I am currently 20 years old and working full-time as a copy editor and film critic at the local newspaper. My quandary is this: I, in my heart of hearts, believe I can be a part of Episode II. I participated in almost every outsider level of the release of Episode I, including a press screening, VIP pre-release schmooze fest and I even designed an entire special section on the film. If I had the means or the experience, I would be ready to audition for any role thrown my way. I'm not an actor in the traditional sense in that I don't believe in a lot of the pseudo-emotional nonsense it takes to make a good performance. I believe it was Spencer Tracy who said, "Just look the other guy in the eye and remember your lines." That about sums up my attitude. As you probably have figured by now, I have close to zero chance to save up the money to obtain agency representation, purchase a plane ticket, fly 1,500 miles and sleep in the airport just to interview for the chance to audition for the chance for a screen test . . . so on and so forth. As far as I can tell from the fan sites and news bits I've read (taken with a grain of salt), unknown, dedicated actors are what is in mind for Episode II. That fits me perfectly. I may not have the means or the credentials, but I can tell you one thing: I am dedicated. I can take anything and everything I do to the fullest of my ability - and sometimes even then some. I'm no-nonsense when it comes to the stage and screen, and despite a short resume, I know what I'm talking about. But in a world where money determines the speed of equatorial rotation . . . well, I'm sometimes just out of luck. According to the Star Wars website, letters asking to "just give me a chance" are looked down on, but I figure I can hope against hope while there is still time, and maybe get that chance. Star Wars Episode I
Sehr geehrter Herr Lucas,
ich bin begeisterter Fan und Anhänger der Starwarstrilogie. Der neue Film war gut, aber es ist eine Menge Kritik beid den Fans aufgekommen. Schade ist, daß Episode I die Magie und Mystik der Trilogie verloren hat. Bei der ersten Episode kann man noch drüber hinwegsehen. Doch zwei weitere Episoden in diesem Stil werden eine Menge Anhänger vergraueln. Es ist schade, daß Sie anscheinend auf Krampf versuchen die Filme ohne Altersbeschränkung in die Kinos zu bringen (wohl des Geldes wegen!?), denn durch übertriebene (kinder)Figuren, wie Jar Jar Binks geht auch die letzte Mystik verloren und wird zu einem albernen Klamauk und Kinderstreifen, ohne tiefen Sinn, Inhalt und Verstand. Ich hoffe, daß die nächsten Episoden sich der alten Mystik nähern. Ansonsten sehe ich ihre Fans sich an die Trilogie klammern und Ihre Einnahmen sinken.
Noch ein Tip: Es gibt schon lange so viele neue und spannende Bücher von Star Wars, wobei viele sich zum Film eignen würden und diese strahlen den alten Glanz.
